Tips For Your Visit
There is ample shaded car-parking available on-site at Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital.
It's also good to know that should you need a taxi once your tour as finished, their friendly staff can call one for you.
There are also toilets available either at the start or end of your tour.
You can take as many photos or videos as you like throughout this tour, but you will be advised to turn off your camera's flash.
You might want to bring along your own masks to wear inside the falcon aviary, as there are lots of loose feathers on the floor inside this building.
Finally, there is a DELIMARCHE cafe on-site, but it is not always open, so best to bring your own water along onto this tour.
What To Expect
Once you arrive at Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital, you will wait inside their guest lounge until everyone on your tour has arrived.
You then should start your Falcon World Tour with a visit inside their history room. Not all tours start in this room though, especially if there are large group bookings on the day of your booking. Therefore, some tours start in reverse and you might visit this room last.
One of the next areas that you'll visit as part of your tour, is where you will learn about the history of falconry.
You'll also learn that every Falcon needs to have it's very own passport in the UAE!
We then made our way inside the dedicated falcon aviary, which allows the falcons in there to stretch their wings, get some exercise and relax amongst the other falcons.
You won't be allowed to walk onto the sandy parts of this aviary to get closer to these falcons, but you will be able to watch the falcons from their dedicated grass viewing area.
On the way back to the Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital's main building, we came across some of the local wildlife birds strolling around this property.
We were also shown where their resident owls live on their property.
Once inside their operating hospital as part of our tour, we were introduced to their hospital staff and how they care for falcons.
We were shown a couple of different procedures that they typically perform on the falcons brought into their hospital. Procedures such as nail filing and repairing any damaged wings.
You can also see all of the falcons in their hospital who are currently waiting to be treated. They apparently need to wear the special falcon hoods whilst they are inside this hospital, otherwise they might attack each other.
At the end of your hospital visit, you'll then have the opportunity to see how falcons eat their food and also have one stand on your hand using one of their protective gloves.
The final part of this tour involves visiting their room full of achievements and accolades, since their official opening in 1999.
