Tips For Your Visit

Keep a look out for the ducks that swim near the entrance of this museum.

There is a fantastic cafe called Hint which in the warmer months is located inside Etihad Museum and in the winter months, they open outside towards the back of this museum near a small lake.

Hint has a fantastic breakfast or lunch menu, with special mention with their Chicken Avocado Guacamole dish with charcoal bread and a sprinkling of pomegranate on top.

According to the friendly waiter who served us, their Pralin Hazelnut dessert is one of their signatures, so we couldn't resist ordering this. The verdict? Absolutely delicious!

Hint has fantastic views of Dubai and overlooking the stunning grounds of this museum.

This museum is wheelchair and pram friendly, as they have lifts located throughout this museum.

There is also family-friendly bathrooms and a fantastic gift shop towards the end of your visit.

What To Expect

Etihad Museum is built across a number of levels and you can either take the winding staircase down to the main level or the lifts.

Once on the bottom level of this museum, you'll be able to visit an intimate movie theatre and sit and watch the video playing.

There are touch screens available to view throughout Etihad Museum, so this is quite an interactive museum.

The interior architecture of this museum is stunning and has a lot of Arabic influence.

You could easily stay an hour or two at this museum, as there are a lot of digital screens to view.

Thomas and Robert loved one of the interactive activities for kids and adults. We won't say what the activity is, so it's a surprise for you too!

one of the oldest Koran books known in the UAE can be found at Etihad Museum and it is certainly well-worth seeing.

There are so many incredible spaces inside Etihad Museum, including this spiral staircase, which we couldn't walk up, but we loved looking at!

There is also an outdoor courtyard to visit, which is an incredibly beautiful place to visit to be surrounded by nature.

Union House is located on the same site as Etihad Museum, but you'll need to walk outside the modern part of Etihad Museum to visit this historically significant site in the UAE.

One of the friendly staff at Etihad Museum kindly offered to take us around for a tour of Union House and the neighbouring buildings, so we jumped at this chance!

whilst you can't go inside the Union House, you can walk inside the neighbouring buildings and see inside the main dining area.

You'll also be able to see inside a series of accompanying rooms, with beautiful wallpaper and furniture greeting visitors.

There are a number of UAE flag poles outside Union House, making for great photo opportunities.

The Verdict

We loved that this museum wasn't very busy, so you could explore at your own leisure.

The free personalised tour of Union House and the accompanying buildings was such a special experience.

One of the most impressive museums in the UAE to visit and with such great historical significance, we cannot recommend visiting enough!

Hint was also an outstanding cafe find in Dubai, so we can't wait to visit Etihad Museum in the winter months to have coffee by the lake at Etihad Museum.

Sounds like fun? Don’t just take our word for it, experience it for yourself.
