Emirates Palace require at least 24 hours advance notice and advance payment must be made in advance to confirm your booking.
When To Go
Emirates Palace offer this picnic every day on their lawn between 2pm – 5pm.
Costs Involved
Adults & children over 12 years: AED300 net per person including a cold or hot beverage
Children (6 – 11 years): Minimum spend AED150 per child
(Children order off kids’ menu)
Children under 6 years old: Free
How To Get There
Parking is available in the West Wing Parking Area at Emirates Palace.
Parking is free during your picnic.
Tips For Your Visit
Bathrooms and nappy changing facilities are available at the entrance, before, during or after your picnic.
The Afternoon Tea Picnic is approximately a 5-10minute walk from the entrance to the lawn areas.
Once you’ve arrived at the West Wing Parking area and checked-in with Emirates Palace staff, you can walk on your own or be escorted by a golf buggy to your dedicated picnic spot.
We chose to walk, as there were some beautiful gardens to enjoy along the way!
You are also allowed to bring your own kite to the lawn at Emirates Palace.
This proved a great idea, as Tom had so much fun watching Rob fly our new kite!
There is also a soccer pitch, soccer ball and goal posts for you to enjoy a spot of soccer too!
Each picnic area is positioned under a tree and/or has an umbrella set up to provide some shade.
What To Expect
Everyone will receive their own picnic basket outside on the lawn at Emirates Palace.
Expect to be served some delicious food including cold mezzeh, mini bagels/sandwiches, scones and desserts.
One of our favourite canapés was the ‘Exotic Lobster,' which was served with saffron brioche, Canadian lobster, smoked paprika, celery leaves and mango salsa.
We also thought the ‘Oriental Chicken’ sandwich was delicious, which came with mixed pickles, garlic paste, hummus and cucumber.
Their desserts were really yummy too! We couldn’t decide whether the ‘Berry Tarlet’ or ‘Tea Cakes’ were our favourite!
Only 1 cold or hot drink per person is included in each picnic package, but every person will receive a bottle of still water too!
All drinks are served in take-away coffee cups and any extra food or drinks that you order is chargeable.
Sometimes there is a ‘Bianco’ ice-cream trolley that comes around to your picnic spot, which is also at an additional charge.
What's Unique
This has got to be one of the most sophisticated outdoor afternoon teas in the UAE!
The Verdict
We loved our family picnic experience at Emirates Palace, as it was a mix of yummy food, great views, fun activities, and well-maintained lawns.
We enjoyed having a lot of privacy and being spread apart from the other people who were picnicking on that same day.
Watching the sun set was also a highlight of our picnic, as the changes to the clouds and sunlight was beautiful to watch and a great ending to our fun family picnic experience!
