Tips For Your Visit
Everyone kayaking will be provided with a life vest, water bottle and a waterproof bag for you to bring along in your kayak.
You are able to leave your valuables with a staff member once you check-in and there are changing rooms available very close to where Sea Hawk is located.
Best to bring your own towel along just in case you do get wet!
What To Expect
There will be a brief safety demonstration before you start your kayaking trip.
Sea Hawk Water Sports & Adventures have strategically placed white flags along the way in the mangroves, which means that you shouldn’t get lost.
Should you wish to have a Guide accompany you/your group, you’ll need to pay an additional AED200 in total per group.
It’s very likely that your feet will get wet at the start and/or end of your kayaking as you get on/off your kayak, so best to wear appropriate footwear.
Should you wish to rinse off any sand or excess water from your shoes, there is a public water tap available right in front of Sea Hawk’s area on the sand.
After you’ve returned your kayak, life vest, waterproof bag and paddle, you can walk to one of the many cafes or food trucks available around Reem Central Park.
Save Our Souls (SOS) is one of the closest cafes to Sea Hawk, so we enjoyed a healthy breakfast there after our kayaking.
Their ‘Granola Bowl’ and ‘Mango Graham Smoothie’ were absolutely delicious.
The Verdict
The mangroves on Al Reem Island are very well looked after and you hardly see any rubbish along the way!
It’s so beautiful paddling very close to the mangrove plants & seeing their incredible root system.
You certainly get a chance to see how important the mangroves are for our global eco-system.
We also loved seeing birds fly over the mangroves!
What's great about most water sports and kayaking in particular is that you can effectively do it all-year round!
Sunrise was the perfect time to go kayaking, as it wasn't too hot or too busy with other kayakers or stand up paddle boarders around the mangroves.
Lastly, the reflections on the water of the nearby buildings was absolutely stunning, so we would definitely kayak again with Sea Hawk around these beautiful mangroves at sunrise!
Sounds like fun? Don’t just take our word for it, experience it for yourself.
